Major Responsibilities:
· Provision of leadership, guidance and direction in Quality. (Drive Quality to all levels of the Plant)
· Keep abreast with all developments, initiatives and Best Practice applications in the field of Quality for potential application within the Company
· Develop and implement both short term and long term objectives, policies, plans and processes
· Establish plans and monitor progress in Quality throughout the Plant
· Ensure that mechanisms are in place for the effective interface of both internal production, suppliers and customers and the review of quality assurance, quality control and certification
· Implement a process whereby a continuing program of review and analysis to audit the quality and reliability result
· Provide training for QC Engineers, Inspectors and Technicians
· Ensure within the Plant that effective resources are in place to pro-actively and professionally drive Quality.
· Schedule QC coverage to the production schedule.
· Maintain the QM System consistent with TS16949.
· Ensure third party certification for TS16949.
· Establish good rapport with all departmental heads and management and keep informed of both status and needs
· “Hands on involvement” of inspecting, analysing and testing products as required
· Enhance and maintain effective quality inspection processes, including establishment of forms, testing and checking procedures
· As part of the Senior Management Team gain a strong appreciation of all facets of the operation and contribute to its overall effectiveness
· Stop production when quality is unacceptable.
Other Responsibilities
· Ensure that appropriate mechanisms are in place to identify any potential risk and take appropriate action
· Oversee the completion of 8D reports.
· Ensure that regular reports are forthcoming, analyse and evaluate , take action where applicable
· Establish a team environment.
· Implement special quality projects for the Plant based on increased efficiency (eg Traceability)
· Responsible for ensuring the calibration of gauge and equipment.
· Review and update and Control Plans with the teams as required.
· Drive internal TS16949 Departmental Audits.
· Liase with senior Quality management in other Plants
· Identify and satisfy training needs within the Pant in Quality
· Support new project launches by providing resources for the PPAP and APQP Team.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Proven and successful track record working in a similar role within the Automotive Supply Industry, 1-2 years as quality manager
· Strong problem solving skills and statistical analysis.
· Fluency in speaking, understanding, writing and reading English
· Good interpersonal skills
· Proven experience in working effectively within a “Western” multi-national organisation
· Tertiary qualified either with an Engineering Degree or formal Quality accreditation.
