As [material engineer], you will:
• Material scouting: Scout Chinese competitiveness materials with both low-cost & good performance from material specialty. Identify cost saving opportunities, push forward cost saving ideas to divisional V**E pipelines, to improve product profitability.
• Best Cost Analysis: Support divisions New Order Intake, RFQ BOM Optimization Review to provide cost effective alternative materials as an integral part of Design-to-Cost.
• ESG - Sustainable material development: Support division to scout and develop sustainable/recycled material to meet customer requirement.
• Material approval: Approval process of newly pro**ed materials qualification before mass production adoption, including material evaluation, product & production evaluation following, material compliance and stability confirmation etc..
• Material evaluation: Understand material specification or confirm material requirements from division, make evaluation plan & implementation based on material specification.
• Failure Analysis: Analyze failure phenomena occurs in product development, production process, or market conditions, work out root cause and countermeasures to improve product quality.
• Lab management: China material lab equipment, test and safety & health management.
What you will bring:
• Material scouting: QCD investigation and extract **sible candidate, analyze technical feasibility, come out VA ideas and pro**e to division. When necessary, material evaluation& data analysis to clear technical issues.
• Best Cost Analysis: Pro**e cost effective alternative materials to optimize RFQ BOM cost.
• ESG - Sustainable material development: investigate green material seeds and trends, support to scout and develop candidate sustainable/recycled material with Purchasing and R&D.
• Material approval: Confirm new pro**al material is compliant with Marelli material catalog, and what value it will bring. Adjust approval meeting schedule, host and make meeting minutes, follow to solve issue & delay.
• Material evaluation: Make evaluation plan & implementation based on material specification, confirm and analysis test results, make the reports of material evaluation.
• Failure Analysis: Analyze phenomena and cause to work out countermeasures, improvement product quality and even feedback to future development.
• Lab management: Make plan of equipment calibration & maintenance, equipment routine inspection, develop and implement rules of chemical reagent & High pressure gas(N2) management and daily confirmation.
