Overview：
Align with product to lead lighting product(Rear lamp, Headlamp, OHC and ambient lamps, Mirrors Lamp etc) design job with robust manufacture feasibility.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities：
1. Develop concepts through to production, to ensure robust, cost sensitive design solutions
2. Provide the main design resource or point of contact for a Product during the Product Development Cycle through to Production Manufacturing
3. Work closely with the Product Engineer to develop and implement solid design concepts to meet the requirements defined in customer contract
4. Focus on the Proof of Concept planning with the Product Engineer, to understand and limit the risk of design solutions with respect to part performance and manufacturability
5. Perform complex vehicle level packaging studies, balancing physical space limitations, legal functional requirements, and manufacturing limitations
6. Ensure the CAD deliverables are progressing along the expected timeline, and pro**e action plans should problems arise
7. Define CAD files which communicate design intent from a singular component to a multi-component assembly
8. Create and define robust, computer aided design files, consistent with Autosystems Standards, capable of enduring multiple design revisions quickly and efficiently
9. Maintain and revise our design responsible, computer aided design files within our Customer’s data management system
10. Support data translation at the request of our Supply base to facilitate tool builds and concurrent design activity in CAD packages, other than that used by Autosystems
11. Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Control as a main point of contact for design and geometric related issues
12. Determine and communicate dimensional measurement plans to ensure molded parts meet design intent.
13. Work with Purchasing to help source new purchased components and collect the related engineering documentation
14. Provide CAD models/drawings and proof of concept activity to facilitate VA/VE initiatives
15. Peer mentor the designers assigned to their respective programs, helping them to develop their skills sets and experience
16. Create and maintain design standard parts library best practices gained from current experience
17. Maintain and update design checklist
18. Analyse benchmark samples, Create and share benchmark files


Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree or above (Engineering Field)
2. Min 5 years’ design experience in automotive tail lamp, better if have head lamp design experience
3. Proficient in CATIA V5
4. Understands and applies standard plastics geometries to ensure manufacturing controls (ie: Draft, Wall stock, Rads and Fillets) are incorporated
5. Can manage data transfers as required by our customer, utilizing the systems prescribed as trained/ presented.
6. Perform translation of data utilizing industry standard translation software as required
7. Reasoning Ability: Effective trouble shooting for a variety of different situations/issues effectively.
8. Effective communication (written and verbal) with the customer, suppliers, and various departments within Autosystems
9. Organization of records, time, priority setting, deadlines
10. Self-motivated, high level of initiative and creativity
11. Able to work independently and follow tasks through to completion
12. Proficiency in Microsoft Applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
13. Demonstrated knowledge of metrology, material properties and manufacturing processes and limitations
14. Demonstrated understanding of Standard Drafting Practices and the ability to define and interpret the principles of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
15. Comprehensive understanding of Autosystems manufacturing processes and techniques, such as Injection Molding, Coating systems, and Assembly techniques currently in use
16. Demonstrated knowledge of BOM assemblies, extensions, LED lamps, A Surfacing, and reflectors and front-end modules
