JOB SUMMARY
Leads and provides technical direction and technical expertise to team through the Innovation Development Procedure (IDP) projects and milestone reviews. Takes an active role in mentorship. Responsible for project objectives, costs, and timing. Provides leadership in support of individual and departmental goals. Interfaces with internal contacts and customers to coordinate Advanced Product Development work as needed. Translates direction of technical work into specific plans of action and directs development activities to implementation phase. Performs project work and other duties as necessary in support of business objectives and the protection of intellectual property rights.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1、Performs project work and other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. Prepares and distributes appropriate communication as necessary. Responsible activities include but not limited to: Divisional communication/presentation, individual meetings (1-on-1) design reviews, supplier meetings, regular updates to senior management, team meetings, global design support/meetings, customer technical presentations, approval of timesheets and purchases, budget planning and monitoring, performance reviews and work loading/resource management.
2、Leads and provides technical management and expertise to APD engineers within the Advanced Product Development group. Helps direct resources to support necessary activities to meet business goals and objectives. Monitors productivity of groups/individuals and recommends changes where needed. Provides leadership and support to staff and assists in employees’ skill development. Assumes responsibility for work performed by staff in respective area in accordance with IDP.
3、Interfaces with internal and external contacts (i.e. product engineering and design, manufacturing plants, product management, lab, model shop, outside suppliers and vendors, etc.) in support of projects. Gathers information, holds team meetings, and monitors, reviews, and critiques progress of projects, etc.
4、Serves as a liaison and coordinates development activities of internal and external resources. Serves as a resource by providing a problem-solving function by initiating action to overcome obstacles as they are encountered.
5、Participates in continuous improvement efforts. Researches, recommends, and implements new and/or existing products, processes, materials, and equipment. Engages in comparative and competitive analysis to ensure utilization of most appropriate and beneficial techniques.

REQUIREMENTS:
1、Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, plus minimum 5 years’ experience in advanced product development; or equivalent. Fluent in English.
2、Automotive industry experience, including knowledge of injection molding, metal casting, electronics, lighting design. Product design knowledge of outside and inside mirrors, door handles, and actuators preferred.
3、Demonstrated strong communication skills. Must be able to work with internal and external contacts at all levels within the organization and represent the company in a professional manner.
4、Demonstrated strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills for successful performance of job duties.
5、Demonstrated project management skills to maintain quality, cost, and timing.
